First 100% Graciano ever to be produced in Rioja (first botteling in 1994 – Rioja Alta – single vineyard – 10 months ageing in French oak from Allier)
Graciano is a very concentrated small grape. Yields are low and it has an intense color, acidity and beautiful aromas. “This grape gives grace to the wines of Rioja”.
Beautiful and expressive nose with red and black fruits, violets, cloves, toast, fresh herbs and black olives . Full bodied, soft textured with juicy and fresh fruit, same flavours on the palate. Very fine, upright tannins giving a dusty texture, refined and long. Should soften to release even more of Graciano’s lovely fragrance. Fantastic red!

Dionisio Ruiz planted his first vine in 1975. The vineyard is located in Rioja Alta on an old gravel pit which reproduced the natural conditions in which vines grow in La Rioja. And so began a pioneering road. Viña Ijalba, founded in 1991, elaborating quality ecological wines using tradtionial techniques of la Rioja, and even now, in its third generation, respecting its compromise with the environment.
